WECO Group: Produkt of the month

The WECO product 931-SLR-SMD-1,1 with a pitch of 3.5 mm is a pin strip for true SMT, Surface Mount Technology, suitable for the reflow soldering process.

So, WECO reacts to the continuously increasing demands of 3,5 mm products in SMD technology. We already started this project with the 931-SLR-SMD-1,3 and extend our range od SMD products with the pin strip 931-SLR-SMD-1,1 having a pin diameter of 1.1 mm.

The pin strip 931-SLR-SMD-1,1 was designed for the use with the plug connector 930-FL-DS. The combination of these two products leads to lower insertion and extraction forces. Such low insertion and extraction forces are particularly advantageous in large-pole versions when the connection needs to be disconnected and reconnected several times for assembly or repair purposes.

The nail-head shaped solder plates at the end of the pins give optimum adhesive properties on the board. With their high holding force of our SMD pin strips available for the genuine surface mounting technology, they are equivalent to their counterparts of the Through Hole Technology.

The body of high temperature resistant polyamide is ideal to be used in the reflow soldering process with its higher soldering temperatures. Due to the exposed solder joints a good accessibility for the hot-air circulation is ensured during the reflow process in a convection oven.

This pin strip joins our family of series 931, which now consists of two THR (Through Hole Reflow) and two SMD pin strips.

For the automatic assembling process all pin strip versions are packed in Tape-on-Reel and are equipped with high temperature resistant pick caps, which can comfortably be removed after the soldering process.
