PCB connector 974-D-SMD-DS

974-D-SMD-DS For a bevel wire entry WECO developed the SMD connector 974-D-SMD-DS with 5 mm pitch for the direct soldering on the printed circuit board. The wire entry has a connection angle of 45° to the printed circuit board. This offers the advantage of arrangements in several place saving rows, one behind the other, for a still higher component density. The screw connector 974-D-SMD-DS is standardly equipped with captive screws and wire protectors. It is available in 2 to 6 pole versions. The housing of the pin strips correspond to the requirements of the increased soldering temperatures in the lead free soldering process. This connector is packed tape on reel for the automatic assembling. It has a flat roof design on the housing in order to create a flat surface for the vacuum pipette in order to avoid the work procedure of removing the Pick Discs after the reflow soldering process. Only with a larger dimension of components, starting with a pitch of 5 mm, SMD becomes spectacular in an application. So, once again the most important advantages of the surface mount technology (SMT) in a short overview: Efficient production of component groups (maximum assembling output and security) Smaller demand of space with same function due to reciprocal assembling No drillings necessary in PCB. The components can be placed on both sides of the PCB For special and difficult applications when drillings are not possible, e.g. when conductive paths are vapour-deposited on unusual undergrounds like glass a.s.o. Increased reliability with the automatic assembling. The main source of error is excluded when putting the pins into the PCB holes straight with multipolar elements. Using SMD products increases the reliability of he automatic assembling.
