WECO Group: Product of the month

With the 930-D-SMD WECO offers another unique SMD connector for real surface mount technology with a 3.5 mm pitch.

Customers are already composed with "floating" solder cylinders, which adjust unevenness and bendings with cheaper PCB's and thus ensure 100% co-planarity and provide for highest solder stability, on the real SMD connectors of WECO.

This component sets however further milestones within the range of genuine surface mount technology for the sizes starting from pitch 3.5 mm and bigger.

With a complete terminal body, which is deployed "flexible" in the housing, WECO shows a further innovative solution for most reliable adhesion characteristics with 100% guaranteed co-planarity, additionally with smaller component dimensions. The solder flanges, usually placed on each side of the housing to enlarge the solder surfaces, are no longer necessary.

The connector is in block construction obtainable in the number of 2 to 12 poles. A clear convenience to the expandable previous model in modular construction, 930-T-D-SMD, which has been replaced by this new connector, is the drop of the dove tail at the last pole.

Beyond that, block constructions, especially for longer pole types, are to be preferential choosen.
Designed with captive screws and a high temperature resistant housing material are these terminals the best selection for the Reflow soldering process.

Packed in magazine or Tape-on-Reel, equipped with high temperature resistant Pick Discs, these terminals for real SMD are practicable for the automatic assembling on Pick & Place machines.

The screws are turned in to the optimal length of engagement by the factory but due to the movable sockets it is not to be excluded that the position of the screws may change by transport. Therefore it can be necessary that the screw has to be turned back for using the maximum permissible wire cross-section.
